Dr. LaRetha Odumosu (known as Dr. O) is a career educator with over 14 years of experience as a school leader. Dr. O has a BA and MA in English Literature and a PhD in Urban Education. Starting her career in education as an Upward Bound instructor, Dr. O taught in middle school, high school and college before moving into school leadership first as an Assistant Principal, Principal and currently an Executive Director. In addition, Dr. O adjuncted for both Relay Graduate Schools and 4th Dimension Leadership. She has also served as a member of several education workgroups such as First State Educate, the Governor’s Work Group for School Reopening, the Secretary of Education’s Charter Liaison Committee and Lead of Charter Leaders.
Dr. O currently supports schools and school leaders in the Philadelphia region as a school improvement consultant and coach. In this role, Dr. O guides schools and school leaders to identify and strategically address areas of distress and focus.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Through partnering with Dr. O, client schools experienced a 30% decrease in chronic absenteeism and a 50% increase in enrollment applications within a single school year.

Throughout her principalship, Dr. O’s school out-performed their peers in all local schools and districts in both math and ELA state assessments for three consecutive years.

Using strategic execution, Dr. O corrected and balanced budget deficits of up to $1 million in multiple schools/LEAs over the course of five different fiscal years.

Dr. O's consultation led to client schools avoiding school closure through successful navigation of formal probation and school renewal processes.

Dr. O has a decade of experience training and developing school leaders across a variety of education domains and experience levels to be effective, productive and successful.

Under Dr. O's school leadership, suspension numbers decreased by 40% in one year. Staff attrition rates went from 60% to 15% in one year.

Under her guidance, schools have seen remarkable achievements including the "Inches and Miles" Award for academic growth and recognition as Delaware's Top Workplace. Most recently, Dr. O received the "Impact" award for having a significant impact on educational community.
